“In fact, this is my first time in a volunteering capacity. I took up the courage as I wanted to know more about Autism. I have people coming up and sharing about their volunteering experiences with me from time to time and that makes me feel to want to experience it for myself. Nervous and lost was how I felt on my first day but I was fortunate to have very good supportive teachers on hand to brief me on all the necessary knowledge of the day’s work. As I continued to volunteer, I have come to know that out there, every family is walking a different journey and that the community is crying out for people whose hearts and minds are open to these special group of individuals. Yes, it is challenging but I am sure you will find the experience rewarding.”
