The Enabled Living Programme (ELP) is a community living programme that empowers adults with disabilities with low to moderate support needs to live independently for as long as possible.

Sited in public rental flats, ELP helps adults with disabilities age in place by providing an ecosystem of care, social support and community integration. ELP supports them in building meaningful connections, enhancing their overall well-being, autonomy, and dignity.

ELP is an initiative by the Ministry of Social and Family Development and SG Enable under the Enabling Masterplan 2030.

Our Vision

For our residents to lead ordinary lives, in ordinary homes, in ordinary neighbourhoods.

Dignity and meaning are core to the work of SAAC, and the starting point of our vision for The LIGHT House. We want the future to be one where the society includes and welcomes persons with disabilities into their communities.

We Provide:

On-site services e.g. daily living & social skills coaching

Daily check-ins, guidance and safety monitoring for all residents

Social activities and learning opportunities for all residents

Community engagement and community integration initiatives

At its core, The LIGHT House supports independence and inclusion in the community through a person-centred approach. The programme aims to:

Support Independent Living

We support all residents in their daily lives, with an aim to improve their quality of life.

Give Person-centered Support

We do this through Individual Care Plans and one-to-one coaching.

Encourage Social Interactions

We work to provide opportunities for meaningful participation in the community.

The LIGHT House

A lighthouse is a symbol of guidance and hope that evokes a sense of safety and steadfastness in the midst of storms.

It is a beacon that draws ships home, and in the same vein, The LIGHT House will be a place of comfort and peace, with an unwavering sense of home and belonging for our clients.

LIGHT calls back to SAAC’s values, the constant beacon that will guide us as we strive towards our vision of enabling our clients to “lead ordinary lives, in ordinary homes, in ordinary neighbourhoods”.

The Location

Situated just a 10 minute walk away from Woodlands MRT and Causeway Point, other nearby amenities include a coffee shop and mini mart right under the block, and a neighbourhood mall and supermarket within 5 minutes of walking.
