Every morning, 50-year-old Pak Meng begins his day in the same way. Like many on the autism spectrum, Pak Meng thrives on structure and familiarity. For decades, his parents supported his growth. But as they grew older, the demands of caregiving became a weight they could no longer carry alone.
Here in St. Andrew’s Adult Home, Pak Meng has found a place where he is truly understood. He has grown more expressive, delighting in mimicking moves from his favourite kung-fu movies and sharing laughter during percussion class.
